1st chinese concert
from the $188 dr visit... it was worth it to see that she was getting better the next day... just in time too for her 1st school chinese concert.

{ 39.3 degrees high fever }
even thou tot was coughing and runny nose for a about a week now... the normal panadol and woods cough mixture did not help at all.
Last night she slept so early and informed me that she had a headache.
This morning as i woke her up to get ready for school.. she shivered and told me again that her head is very pain..and as i felt her fore head... FEVER was confirmed!
What is a mother to do but to take childcare leave to attend her sick / weak child.
As i put her back to sleep with a wet facecloth on her head... I sent a sms to inform i was on childcare leave.
How can i sleep when I'm so worried about tot... at 10:30am i woke her up and got her ready to see the doctor.
The place where we usually go by that time will have many ppl waiting and u can forget about going to poly clinic... even thou its cheap... the waiting time is a WASTE of time and pisses me off.
So as marine parade is near.. i google up medical clinics at parkway parade.
Kinder Clinic is well known for a kids clinic so as my poor wee tot is so weak, i did fear it was H1N1...so i better take her to a good doctor.
The waiting time is bout 30-45mins but u gotta put up with kids running around.
I did realised that most of the other patients are from the higher class or foreigners.
but i also want the best for tot.. can not meh?
when it was our turn the Dr you can tell is very qulified.
She ask if we wanted to put the capslue up the bum hole which will reduce the fever dramticly.
but tot had that done when younger and very bad exprerince where the anus bleed a bit... so i didnt want to go thru that again if there are other opions.
So the Dr checked her and advised us wat not to eat and other things to do to reduce the fever.
Then it was our turned to was i ever shocked to find out that the total bill turned out to be $188!!
wtf... THAT is the most expesive medical check up tot or i eva HAD.!!!
But luckly my pay was in and i paid with out any questions and with a smile on my face.
as i looked at the bill closely.. $80 for consultation and bout $92 for the medicine then plus the taxes... total $188nett.
I was having regret i choose to go there.........
but after i gave her the medicine (in total like 6 different bottles types) she fell very sleepy and after a short nap... we woke up and the fever thank god has dropped.
she was not so weak and was able to eat.
So.. in the end... i didnt regret paying so much for her medical... coz in the end... it helped her fever dramaticly and money well spend overall.

? too young to study ?
As much as i wanna leave 2009 behind and start a new fresh beginning in 2010.. i realised i will be 25yrs next year and my lil tot will be 5yrs old... man do they grow fast!! i cant believe my lil princess will be K1 next year.
but.. as i saw the topics for the 2010 in her childcare school... somethings i was wondering is it necessary for them to start teaching kids so fast?!
Since i grew up in New Zealand, i did all my years of schooling there and don't know much about the education system here in spore.
When i was 5yrs old, we attended primary school (YES PRIMARY SCHOOL STARTS AT AGE 5YRS THERE)
but we only stayed half day and most of the day... we sang songs and play games.. school bag with packed lunch and listen to story time, eat snacks, go outside and play.. and sing more songs.. then 2pm go home.... good times :)
but in spore K1 for 5yrs old are already doing maths..and carry school bags with text books... and kids are suppose to be able to read certain words and remember the days of the week (front & back)... no doubt they do have play time... but i didn't grow up with such strict study methods at such a young age.
As lil tot is learning mandarin as a second language (i know its hard by she can pronounce the Chinese words better than "Malay" words...plus there is no point to learn Malay as Chinese is more used all over the world).. i also pay for extra Chinese classes every Wednesday.
I do see the improvement in her mandarin even thou i don't understand wat the hell she is talking about... but many auntie and uncle always take a 2ND look at tot when she sings a Chinese song while skipping to school.
"Why auntie... she not allowed to speak mandarin is it?"... hehehhe
now i realised that mostly all kids here in spore go to tuition. after school or weekend or home tuition.
i didn't have tuition when i was schooling and was totally new to this concept.
to my sup rise, parents here send their kids to tuition from the young age of 4yrs old! (tot is like 4 now..)
some parents send for 2 - 3 subjects, but believe me.. it ain't cheap!!
as the society here in spore are so competitive on education and want the best for their child... i came to look at myself and wonder.. am i doing for my tot... will she lose out by the time she starts primary school?
will she be slower than the rest of the kids since she didn't attend tuition?
No mother wants their kid to be left behind or laughed at when the child cant read or write properly.
So i have declared my self a Kiasu parent!!!
I also decided to make tot attend tuition class on weekends as i found and heard of a great place near my new house to be... but which subject?
well Phonics is mostly to teach 6-8yrs old kids with either Dyslexia / Reading Difficulties / Slow Learners.
but this phonics method is real good... so they have also started to introduce this to younger kids that are learning to read.. age 4-5yrs.
Read & Spell Programme is a proven programme. Children could read 500 words within 6 lessons.
These same children then gained confidence and self-esteem to motivate themselves to become independent fluent readers.
The programme also corrects reading / spelling difficulty and most important to me is Pronunciation / Speech.

This Phonics class is my first choice... as i find its important for her to learn how to read and spell first.
I plan for tot to attend the phonics class for 2010 to build up her vocab and give her confidence to start read properly.
10 lesson $160 per subject.
(registration $20 & materials $91.50) = $271.50 for the first time attending.
Now if i was earning 2.5k or more... i will let lil tot attend more subject...
but i don't earn that much sooo for the mean time... 1 subject will do... PLUS i don't want to stress out tot so much... she is still going to be only 5yrs old wat.. still a kid who loves to play and sing songs.... not study study study!
but 2011 she will be K2 and was hoping to change phonics to MPM maths.
MPM math aims to improve confidence and inculcate independent problem-solving It trains children in Math concepts and calculation skills while promoting TRUE problem solving skills – children will be able to solve sophisticated Math problems using basic skills they have learnt. Progressively, a positive self-learning attitude develops in MPM-trained children.
so this will get her ready for primary school.
SEE IVE JOINED THE PARENTS SOCIETY GROUP & BECOME A KAISU PARENT!!!

Where the F*** is my father at?
Its annoying how only the father MUST be present at the ROMM.
unless he has passed away then the kadi will accept.
if the father is MIA.. then ROMM will advertise in the local papers for him to come forward and sign.
this will be done for 3 months, then only after that can register.
!!!!! I am not going to do that !!!!
as I've been avoiding to eva go back to jurong area since i left Stupid dog house... now the time has come for me to go back to J-west and find my auntie and uncles.
they will contact my father and get him to come to Singapore, then must sit down and have a talk.. again!

since i cant book a wedding date with out my father... I'm worried the date i want wont be available when its my turn to book.

I have my fingers cross that I'm able to find a good package that is to my needs.
also hope to put a deposit on a package so at least i know, makeup, outfits, hair, photo shoot are settled.

since the food is must to be halal... (must have halal cert).. i don't wanna stress myself more on finding and arranging the venue and menu for 150+ pax.
Luckily i have tai-chi that bundle of stress away to the in laws

latest news on our G-serai unit, well certain block mite be getting their keys early..like in feb/march 2010.
however.. our block 2D will probably only able to collect the keys in april/may 2010.
but...
even thou we get the key, still the unit is so bare.... renovation still needs to take place. pluming / electrical fittings / kitchen / bathroom, these are the main places we need to work on before the unit is even livable!
interior designers... contractors.. furniture...
hmmmmmmmm alot to plan and do for 2010.

It was a random decision, but toot and i thought it would be nice to get hamsters as pets.
even thou we do have a family of turtles they aren't so cuddly are they..?
I was so suprised how soft the hamster fur was and how cute they are.

tick tock..
even thou i woke up late and too my time getting to work... still i arrive roughly around the same time as a weekday.
WTF... i think its just a habit to be early, even when i try to be late.. im still early.
having to work on alternate saturdays sometime is a waste of time, coz basicly other GSA countries im in charge of are closed on both days weekend... so i no need to babysit them via online.
Plus all my work is web based... so all i need is a comp and internet and i can work from anywhere. Saturdays i should just do my alternate half day work from my own comfort of my bed.
ohhh well... as i replied all my emails early morning... i find myself playing games on FB just to kill the time. also do some kepokepo looky looky on friends profiles.

well today at office i enjoyed my free caramel frap thanks to starbucks :)
it has come to my knowledge that a certain 2 skank's i once worked with are living the life... but getting the high life was totally going back on their own words.
SKANK 1:
as we had a hate/hate friendship, alot of things she said to me... well in the end she is doing now.
as she diss me about being a divorcee with a kid... and being more fat then her.... well well well...
skank 1 got married... but not to the guy she was engaged to!... but to some other guy.
A FAT, DARK MAN WITH A SON.
So after making judgment on me... looks like this skank married a guy with all my "so called" flaws. ahahahahaz
so wonder wat happen to the guy she was engaged to... probably dump his ass... coz her new husband probably brought her a jaguar car.
why else would she randomly become a gold digger!

well after telling ppl at work about how proud she is of her bf... who is a national sports man... she seems like so in love with him. cute couple together i must say.

christmas mood
i brought today the most cutest tiny santa hat which is actually a hair clip with a small hat on it, for my lil tot.
maybe she can wear it on xmas day.
also i happen to buy these festive xmas cards.
i dunno why, but i was just on the christmas mood today.
i was on a mission to get some home address of family and dearest friends from NZ.
christmas is the time where kids ask santa for presents and the adults go on a mission to buy the item... hehehehz
but actually ... xmas to me is bout cherish ur family, love and appreciate ur life.
